McDonalds!

We were told that Mcdonalds' logo is the first logo most toddlers recogonized. Soon we got a live demo. Sparsh not only recognizes the logo he has become extremely fond of french fries. So much so that on our recent trip toLadakh he would call for the waiters on his own and ask them to serve him mcdonalds. When the waiters looked at him in surprise he would explain- "french fries!".

De Ghuma Ke!

Yes, he is as much an Indian as all the young and old followrs of cricket as a relegion. My little boy could sense the excitement in the air for bothe the semifinal and final matches. It was a please watching him jump on the bed shouting "India! India!" everytime we got a six or a wicket :-)

Yesterday while the final was on I also heard him humming "De Ghuma ke!"....muaaaah... to my Tendulkar in making :-)

Kitchen King!

Sparsh likes to spend time in the kitchen! Obviously not cooking...but chatting with me, our cook, his numerous nanis in my parents joing family, etc.!

Now that he speaks well, he can name most things associated with cooking and likes to play with his new 'kitchen-set" which I must say is a far cry from the basic one I had as a child.

I would encourage him to spend some time in kitchen every now and then for the benefit of his future partner :-)

Fears!

New found fears! I had read that that I would have to deal with the anyday soon..and hola..here they come. Sparsh is scared of strange things..for example..a moving calendar...insects...reflections...etc.. I want to hug him tight and tell hi that nothing will happen to him..Mumy is there..but I also want him to understand that he is strong by himself and should not be so scared of all this non-sense...he is still such a small baby :-)

Happy Holi ( 2011)

Sparsh is just the right age to understand the concept of Holi and he is having fun. Last night when we went to the common park for "Holi Dahan" he said that the Holi was a fire god and got scare of it. But he like wishing "happy holi" to everybody he met there.

But he had more fun this morning with colours and water....he was struggling to use his water gun at times but was still happy with the fact that he has been allowed to splash water anywhere and anywhere because it is Holi!

Delhi Diaries

We are back home after 4 weeks at Delhi ( my mother was admitted in AIIIMS for all this while). It was a whole new experience for Sparsh considering I used to spend more than half of my day at the hospital and he was left at home in the company of relatives he had not met before. He found a new friend in dear Anagh ( my 10 year old cousin )who became his dear Anagh bahi within 2-3 days.

He also discovered the deer park and loved feeding greens to the deers!

Momos was another discovery for him, though he disliked them, same as I do!

And he wil recogonize the AIIIms landmark forever!

But, we are glad to be back home!

God - nani ko thik kar do!

My mother had a sudden kidney failure post some medical negligience and was in hospital for almost a month. I dont want to remember anything about those hellish days, except the prayers my little boy made at every big and small temple he saw while commuting between hospital and home many times a day.

My mother still believes that it is only his prayers that got him back.....I trust more strongly in the power of prayers now!
